N.E.A Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 do not you consider upgrading ..? i mean after 5 years you will be spitting on you system and cf / sli is only to physical cards , you can get gtx 295/4870x2/5870x2 ..this way you will have sli/cf having a cf/sli ready psu is a good thing , because when you upgrade to a whole new system (cpu, mobo, ram, gpu) you can use the same psu .. paulktreg Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 If a power supply is good quality and carries let's say 4 x 6 Pin PCI-E connectors then it's SLI/Crossfire ready. Certification by Nvidia or AMD is all very well but I imagine it isn't free and involves time and money which some manufacturers aren't prepared to spend. It's another marketing tool, its nice to have the SLI Ready logo but at the end of the day if a particular power supply doesn't have it don't assume it's not capable of powering a dual graphic card setup. Most people don't need SLI/Crossfire anyway unless it's a powerful gaming machine running a high resolution monitor. Go for something like the Corsair HX620W it will be more than enough for your current system and have a little room to spare should you want to upgrade the graphics card sometime in the future.
