Hey everyone, I'm need a new video card asap. >_<

I decided to get the GeForce GTS 250... But I stumbled across two different ones.

BFG GeForce GTS 250 OC 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E Video Card

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetai...amp;catid=25617

vs.

Zotac GeForce GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E Video Card

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.a...amp;catid=20397

There is a huge difference in price at the moment ($169.99 vs. $229.99 respectively), but I don't know how they differ besides brands. Can someone tell me what the difference is in pros and cons between these two cards please?

What's your resolution too??

If it's <1680x1050 than the 4870 would be best

but if it's <1280x1024 than a 4850 ($113.99 before rebate, $98.99 after) or 250 GTS ($128.49) would be best

id say if hes gaming at 1280x1024 then go for the GTS 250. JUST because of Physx and the comparable FPS performance. At that resolution, he should be fine in any game with close to max settings

agreed

but if you do not play batman , or darkest of days then 4850 ..since it gives the same performance but lacks physx...:)

good luck........................:)if you were willing to throwe that money on gts 250oc ed , then wait for a tiny little bit then you can get 5850

that if you are going to upgrade you display in future ...............:)

I stiill thimk if somebody wants a 250, they should just get a 9800GTX or 9800GTX+ sine they are the same and can probably be found for cheaper

Agreed if you can fit a 9800GTX+ buy that it's the same thing as a 250 but larger and cheaper

and I've read reviews that even though 9800gtx's are 65nm not 55nm, they still use the same power, generate the same heat, and even generate the same performance when clocked identically to a 9800gtx+!! :thumbs-up:

I never really payed attention to either cause I came into the game after them but while I was looking at them on newegg just now I saw that there is a 9800 GTX up for $299.99 and I'm confused cause I can't find any reason why it would be this much. I think it is cause it is the only one on newegg but I mean what??? what???

But to the OP buy a gtx260 or a 4850 or a 4870 or get a 9800GTX or GTX+ (if on newegg get a plus unless the 9800gtx's go down to a real price in which case get a 9800)

It's probably just an old, forgotten, listing. I've seen old 260 192's for big money on zipzoomfly (and have even complained to them), sometimes they don't change the prices.

I'd hit up ebay for the 9800gtx/gtx+ (really I'd hit up ebay for any of the cards)
