damian Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Hey guys lately I have seen myself getting a bigger belly and looking back a year ago im not happy with whats become of my body. I use to work out crazy, and had a good physique but all that just went away one day. I really want to start again but whats keeping me (other than laziness) is that i dont have access to my universities gym anymore. So i am looking for a reliable, proven work out program that can be done at home. I have some weights but i am fine doing basic exercises as long as following the program will help me get back in shape. I don't really have money to order any kind of brochure, videos etc so I am hoping there is one that is offered free of charge. What I am looking to improve my body on is mainly my abdominal area. I have weights and bars so i am sure i can work on my arms on my own, but if there is a program that includes exercises for more than just abs that would be even better. Any suggestions? hardnrg Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 crunches, weights, etc, will NOT reduce a flabby belly... you will gain muscle, but you won't get rid of the fat the only way to get rid of the fat is to do more cardiovascular exercise than the calories you eat... so either eat less, or run more (or both) running is free... just don't believe any of that ab-cruncher infomercial rubbish because it's totally false
CheeseMan42 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 As was stated above, you can't spot remove fat. Abdominal fat is typically the last to go, so it'll take some effort on your part but expending more than you take in is the key. Kash Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 The site says that it's for abs, but it's actually a great at home workout. I lost about 25lbs doing this
IVIYTH0S Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 My friend swears by this guys advice and from what I have seen, he seems like he knows what he's talking about. My friend is getting really strong really fast listening to that guy (as well as dieting and using alot of protein supplements)
The Smith Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I would also suggest biking. It's easier on the articulations. If you already have a bike, you can purchase a stand for it. There are even some stands that will plug into your computer, and you see yourself biking in the game, racing against other people, etc.
greengiant912 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Wii Fit! Just don't sign a contract with a gym. I made that mistake and I don't use my membership anymore as I am really trying to get done with school atm... They kinda screwed me into a 2 year membership that I was told I could cancel @ anytime... :-\ Edited December 16, 2009 by greengiant912
suedenim Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 Swimming is good, works more muscles and very low injury rates. Biking is good, but if you bike on the roads you need to be wary of drivers. I live in Vancouver and enough drivers scare the hell out of me to put me off road biking. Running also good, builds bone strenght but has a higher incidence of injuries. Stopping drinking is a good way to lose weight too.

It burns fat for sure Well i cant really prove it cause ive never rly had fat to burn, but im still sure it will help just cause its so awsome. Well tbh 4X should be the biggest fat-burner... Krieg1337 Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I am using a book called The Truth About Six Pack Abs, and it would work perfectly if my parents would support it correctly. It tells you what workouts to do and also what types of foods to eat. Its an E-Book so you will probably have to print it at home and costs $40, but if you follow it correctly it will definitely work. I feel better everyday, and I can't even totally follow it, so it definitely works. Not much things at home needed either! Buy it here
