EVGA 260's

Well it's been well over a week since I've sent the e-mail to XFX about the new black edition and I've just been browsing other manufacturers and EVGA has caught my eye.

 

I've been looking at this one, but a guy at newegg says he clocked this one to 2.73GHz and memory just below 1090. The second one has twice as much more memory but does that mean its better?

I call BS on that. Maybe he ment he got his CPU to that speed with that card installed but a clock that high on memory I have never even close.

Here's the exact post:

Pros: Love the way this baby cruises. Fast, reliable and has some really great support from EVGA. I Overclocked it up to 2.73 GHz with no problems. The OCC tools equiped in the kit allow easy adjustments to stabilize the system. Don't suggest uping the memory over 1090, as system becomes unstable. Could be in part to my mobo since it's older, and I had to update the bios before the card was stable. Overall, a great product with even better support!

Maybe he thought he was overclocking the card but in fact was overclocking the CPU with software from the motherboard

 

It can happen we all have heard horror stories
