AYoKoNA Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 I take it you have an AMD by the looks of that link.... Regardless what processor you have... Nothing beats thermalright HSF.... Thermalright
Guest Ballz2TheWallz Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 specificly SP-97 for amd and SP-94 for intel.
char1ie Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 I have to agree, but for a noob get the slk900a, that way you do not have to remove the mobo to put it on
Paranoid Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Volcano 11+ is inexpensive and easy to install. Still waiting for my SLK-900A
Guest FxXP Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 What ever happened to the Swiftech MCX462 and the PAL8042? Those used to be top dog heatsinks
char1ie Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Thermalright happened. Even the slk 900a beats the swiftech
d3bruts1d Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Moved to cooling... since this has nothing to do with Overclocking. Actually, the new swifty looks like it might beat the thermalright.
Iggy Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Swiftech has a new HSF coming out? Oh please, do post a link. For AMD, the Thermalright SP-97 reigns supreme. If you don't want to have a bolt on heatsink, get the Thermalright SLK-900A and a 92mm Vantec Tornado. If noise is an issue, get a good 20 watt fan contoller. Paranoid Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 My 18watt controller works fine with 3 Tornadoes
wanksta Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 for the noob the thermaltake volcano 11 is really good but if the noob gets into cooling more he will want a slk-900a, so just spend the extra 10 or 15 bucks and go with the slk-900a
Paranoid Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 It is easier to get a Volcano 11+, because more stores carry it.
