SNEAKY BASTARD Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Ya i got this new processor and I've heard that its easy to overclock to 3GHZ or better even with default volts but.... I cant find how, i have AMD OverDrive installed. AutoClock manages to get it to 2,8 GHZ, but not over it. I tried to increase HT ref. Clock, but it boots comp if I try go further than 2,8ghz. Ima total noob in OverClockin, so please, If you are gonna help me, tell every step I should take. BTW, I just found my 4th core, And Im willing to give it up to get this . running with 3000 mhz~~~~+
potatochobit Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 sadly, this model is not a black edition meaning it has a locked multiplier. set all the settings back to normal go into your bios change the FSB from 200 to 215 does your computer turn on and is stable? to get 3.0ghz you will need to change the FSB to 230, however the computer may BSOD and lock up if it does slowly increase the CPU voltage a tiny bit at a time in bios until it does not lock up you can also do this in AMD overdrive to test, if it is stable moving the slider to 215, then try 230, after that clear the settings, restart and manually enter them in the bios yourself.
