Windows XP tweak?

I've got one XP installation where when I go to turn off the computer, when the choice dialog box appears, (standby, shut down, restart) the mouse cursor is already hovering over "standby". I don't know why it does this, but I like it since I force standby every time I leave a computer. I've got at least 10 other XP installs on various computers/hard drives, but only one does this.

Is there any way that I can recreate this action on purpose?

Thanks.

Yeah I've seen something like that, too. In one of my installations, when I simply hover the mouse over a window in background, it brings it on the top. However compared to you, this is ****ing annoying and I don't know how to remove it!

Control Panel

Mouse

"Pointer options" tab

Second option down (Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box)

Just a warning though it does it for other programs as well so you'll need to figure out whether it is worth it to you.
