Phil Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I've got one XP installation where when I go to turn off the computer, when the choice dialog box appears, (standby, shut down, restart) the mouse cursor is already hovering over "standby". I don't know why it does this, but I like it since I force standby every time I leave a computer. I've got at least 10 other XP installs on various computers/hard drives, but only one does this. Is there any way that I can recreate this action on purpose? Thanks.
The Smith Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Yeah I've seen something like that, too. In one of my installations, when I simply hover the mouse over a window in background, it brings it on the top. However compared to you, this is ****ing annoying and I don't know how to remove it! Andrewr05 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Control Panel Mouse "Pointer options" tab Second option down (Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box) Just a warning though it does it for other programs as well so you'll need to figure out whether it is worth it to you. xchrissypoox Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 You can also push a keyboard button (H = hibernate, I assume standby is S or something)
