road-runner Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 I thought I would try the new big WUs on a couple i7s to see how they do, took about 2.33 days @ 3.8Ghz worth 56,000 points with the bonus. I like these going to get it going on a few more i7s, it only works with Linux and OS/X and you have to have 8 cores. road-runner Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Holy Crap Batman! What version of Linux is easiest to use? I would like to try this one out! Ubuntu maybe That is what I am using ubuntu 8.04 64 bit, be sure you have 32 bit libraries installed, you have to use the passkey for bonuses, use -smp 8 -bigadv flags, do not use the -advmethods they say. I had done previous A2 wus so I only had to do 1 wu then it gave me a big one but they say you may have to do 10 A2s before you get the big ones...
