Laslo420 Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 i recently supercharged my PSU fan by accident. i accidently broke my psu fan cord so i took one of the power cables coming out of it and hooked it on one of those cables and it runs so much faster and cooler! but it is loud as heck. Some_Guy_ Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 And it'll probably burn out much faster.
Neural Interface Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 That fan will burn out on u when ur not expecring it too, then ur PSU will get to hot and damage blow up, probably taking your mobo and cpu with it, even if you left ur pc for 5 mins u could come back to smoke
kobalt Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 Quote"so i took one of the power cables coming out of it and hooked it on one of those cables " Comming out of what? Do you mean one of the regular molex plug 12V? If so, it should be ok, that's what i mean when peoples change their fans for leded ones or more powerful ones and hook it up to the fan hookup in the PS, those plugs aren't made to support much but the original, and sometimes less (if laslo420 did what i think he did). they're only tiny lines in the card much smaller than regular fan wires. But be shure your fan is a 12V, otherwise what Neural interface said will happend
