actionstan Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 i dont know if i understand this right or not, i do know a intergrated soundcard puts more load on the cpu, and that a dedicated soundcard does not put extra load on the cpu, but what about a usb headset does it put more load on the cpu or does it have its own built in soundcard? thanks! bp9801 Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 Most USB headsets use their own, built in sound processor instead of using the onboard or add-on sound card. I don't like USB headsets because they usually go with a lackluster sound processor that just disregards anything you already have. If you must get a headset, use one that has the 3.5mm plugs so you can use your own sound card and not rely on the USB one.
