xvCluTchvX Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 CPUz along with many other applications only say I have one core. I recently installed the processor (yesterday) after selling my Q9300. Now I only have one core and performance is being effected. In the bios, all cores are enabled.
Fight Game Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 in the device manager, remove the cpu, and restart
xvCluTchvX Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) in the device manager, remove the cpu, and restart I did that and I got no luck. I also tried to do the Detect HAL in MS Config but there is no option for detecting HAL. Edited August 23, 2009 by xvCluTchvX
Ricky C Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I did that and I got no luck. I also tried to do the Detect HAL in MS Config but there is no option for detecting HAL. Check to see if the BIOS is up to date.

cchalogamer Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Most boards have an option in the bios to disable cores, and some CPU I had in the past on one of the boards I have/had (I know descriptive right) got the bright idea to disable all but one core itself, just went in, enabled and all was well. Next bios update apparently fixed the problem though bc I haven't had any issues other than that one.
