You may have an unstable OC Ditto, check your temps too, maybe you have a little thermal throttling going on.
ootan Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 my temps arnt bad, my peak laod temps are 75c. I'm getting some more thermal paste next week cause some cores are 5-7c difference and i need to reapply, and then i will tweak my overclock some more. btw sorry for being a noob but whats thermal throttling? Waco Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) I'm getting some more thermal paste next week cause some cores are 5-7c difference and i need to reapply That's normal for quad core CPUs. What programs did you use to check stability? If you can't run 30 minutes of IntelBurnTest (getting the same residual each run) you aren't stable, period. Also, if you're running crazy anti-aliasing the game slows down dramatically. Edited August 16, 2009 by Waco
ootan Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 ok so i just did like an hour of intelburntest and prime 95 at the same time and it was perfectly stable, maybe the problem lies with my graphics card
itsmee Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 75 degs@ 3.5? I'm 41C @ 3.2. Seems hot for such a slight increase albeit still within the happy range. 38C @ stock. (Noctua top down cooler / Cosmos S case).
