pkilway Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 If he's going to run the system as built for 2-3 years then start over, go with DDR2 and the best gpu he can buy.
Fight Game Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 agreed. even with the same exact video card in each scenerio, there's still no difference in gaming performance between ddr3vs2
xly15 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 DDR2 for sure.Your friend really would not see any difference in performance in real world application. You just won't see the difference. Also if you wanna see a difference in performance right away you get a better cpu, video card, hard drives, and the such. Go with some quality ddr2 and you won't regret the decision. IVIYTH0S Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 CCokeman is selling some Mushkin Redlines I think (1000mhz speed), ddr3 is a waste of money.

Verran Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 DDR3 isn't worth it. DDR2 whenever possible, that's my vote. Also, if you're not OCing, you may not even need 1066.
