2x2GB. Less RAMs to worry about.

 

 

2x2GB, less sticks, less strain on the memory controller.

2x2GB certainly the way to go. Leaves you room to throw another 4GB on the board in the future should the need so arise, as well.

Whichever is cheaper. Difference doesn't exist if you're using a 32 bit system(unless you count power savings).

Actually if you look at overclocking there is a big difference.

4x1 will work but adds additional latencies into the equation as well as making it more difficult for the memory controller.
