Hi, noob here! Looking forward to joining the discussions. I've been a pc gaming semi-enthusiast for a while, and have just ordered the parts today for my first build. I've had just enough pc knowledge to barely get me by, but now I'm here to improve upon that!

Sure! Here's the list of what I ordered:

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 940 Black Edition

Mobo: Gigabyte GA MA790X UD4P

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200RPM 32MB

RAM: Kingston HyperX T1 Series 4GB (2 x 2GB)

GPU: BFG Tech GeForce GTX 295

PSU: ABS SL Series SL1050 1050W

I'll try to post pics once I get the components delivered and installed.

Looks very good, except do youself and favor and return the PSU or cancel the order on the PSU! 1050W is overkill and ABS really isn't a top brand! You can most definitely get yourself a better PSU for less money!

welcome to occ...

check this out, it should get you on your way to choosing a much better power supply, which is practically the most important part of a computer (can't run fancy parts without it, and quality is very important).

hope you like the forum, it's one of the best.
