Rankiz Posted July 24, 2009 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) I've never build a computer before and am trying to find a good mobo for my i7 902. I know of many, but I ain't sure if I need the most exspensive board. Never overclocked before, so I don't need the enthusiast boards. 4ghz overclocked or 4,1 ghz overclocked do not matter to me. I am going for a Toxic 4890 Vapor-X cooling graphic card, means Crossfire ready would be nice. Also, I live in Norway so everything from Newegg would be around 25% more exspensive in my country. Looking in the price class 200-300 USD. EDIT: EVGA 141 is very exspensive in Norway, and 121 ain't on the marked btw. damian Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I really liked the MSI Platinum X58 motherboard I used to have. Nice entry motherboard for Core I7's and one of the cheaper ones on the market. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/msi_x58_platinum/

xly15 Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 If you want something that is use friendly when overclocking then the Asus boards are probably better for you.
redtigerdragon Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Check out this review on some cheap i7 boards. But yeah, basically the MSI platinum, pro-e, Gigabyte UD3R, or the ASUS P6T (the SE is the same thing, with a few less features that aren't that important). I'm looking into either the platinum or the P6T myself, prices are pretty cheap here.
