Just cleaned out my PC

Recommended Posts

I bought a can of compressed air today, and it's been a while since I have had any of this laying around.

After using a fan beside me close to an open window, I have managed to remove pretty much every speck of dust. The worst part was the CPU, and I made sure to get every part of it.

My stock Q6600 dropped an even 10C on every core after this. :)

I guess this is just a reminder, clean out your PC regularly.

Not really any dust in mine, except for at the bottom of the case and fans. The heatsinks stay fairly clear of dust balls.

Same I'm like a clean freak, I crack my case open at least once a month to clean out the dust on the floor on it and recently cleaned and reapplied my CPU's thermal paste. It helps though a lot to manage temps.

Once a month mine get the compressed air blowout. I live not to far from the highway so the dust in my area is horrendous

now i know it's a little immature to say this but hah, balls

anyways i don't think it's bad thing to be a "clean freak" and make sure to perform maintenance on ur box, i believe i have fairly decent circulation for mine as it is so :D

i shan't worry about save every so often

The worst thing is the fans, the fine particulate dust just clings to blades and its a PITA to blow off every spec...

Indeed that was the most annoying part. Also the GPU fan, because its so low and I don't want to tilt the can.

The problem I have with my rig is that I have good enough air flow to where the heavy thicker dust doesn't build on anything in the case, I find its just the very fine thin light stuff that settles on things, and you cant really even blow that stuff off with compressed air. I have to take my whole rig down and go over it with q-tips.

If you got an air compressor get the attachment that lets you use it to blow air, 100 PSI gets all the dust out.
