igorek84 Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 Hi, I have a choice of doing either 640MB PC2700 @ 333Mhz or 768MB PC2100 @ 266Mhz. Which configuration would you recommend and why? Thanks
Paranoid Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 PC2700 is better, even in smaller amounts. It depends on your FSB as to which memory is best for your system. 200/400MHz FSB - Get a new CPU 266/533MHz FSB - PC2100 is best 333/666MHz FSB - PC2700 is best 400/800MHz FSB - PC3200 is best 666MHz is only listed for an overclocked Intel system. ClayMeow Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 as paranoid said, go with the 2700....especially if it's for the system in your sig. not much dif between 640mb and 768mb, but big diff between PC2700 and PC2100

Paranoid Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 What are you running your FSB at? If it is @ 266MHz, you might want to run your Memory @ the same speed. This will get better performance than running you FSB and memory at different speeds. If your 2400+ is running with a non-overclocked FSB (266MHz), I suggest you run you memory @ 266MHz
igorek84 Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 Yes the FSB is 266Mhz (not oc'ed). So, 768MB PC2100 would suit my comp better cause of same frequency speeds? Thanks
