woogleuk Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Im having problems with my 680i LT (XFX) board, the two memory slots closet to the CPU socket just dont work, i have tried various different memorys with no success, its annoying as i cannot dual channel. Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried upgrading the BIOS with no luck, the current Kingston memory i have works in the last two slots fine (O/C'ed to 1Ghz as this board only officialy supports 800Mhz), but those first two slots still refuse to play ball, i've even tried talking nicely to them. And for the record I have checked that there is no damaged pins. My P45 (ASRock P45TS iP45) board should arrive tomorrow as a replacement (im poor, ok, and i dont plan to SLi, lol), but I would still like to build a second system with the 680i and my old Q6600 (g0), the E8400 has proven to outperform the Q6600 BTW. woogleuk Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Well just to let you all know I have fitted the Asrock P45 board and I am impressed, my system is running a hell of lot better and is more responsive, and my memory is now in dual channel mode, my Vista index rating has shot up from 5.0 to 5.7, only let down by the hard drive now as everything else is 5.9. A friend of mine who has a 780i board was also impressed and said it seemed to outperform his. I would still like any suggestions that anyone may have as to the memory issue on the 680i board as I am planning on re-using it. Thanks Peace.
