Nuclear Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 Def go with Mushkin. I've got 2 x 512MB of the PC3500 Black lvl 2 Mushkin and it's great. It takes alot of volts to get it to pull 2-2-2-5 timings, but it'll do it. The only other company I would recommend would be OCZ Performance. The PC4200 is guaranteed 1:1 at 265FSB. I use it in my 3.2EE rig and it's awesome.
IUMaestro Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 yea Mushkin is a better bet than Corsair. It's more stable and much more leniant when it comes to overclocking the speed or timings
aaronamd Posted January 3, 2004 Posted January 3, 2004 great, but could someone please explain the timings to me. I'm great with everything but memory. including my own!
smithy Posted January 4, 2004 Posted January 4, 2004 When you put in mushkins- It auto detects at 2-2-2-5 or 2-2-2-6 depending on your rig. You can always change it manually but most of the time the bios will do it for you at stock settings. If you plan to overclock you will need to increase you voltages after you meet 3200xp settings. Most 2500xp can overclock to 3200xp settings at stock voltages on the mushkin LV2 ram. FSB200 with the 11 multiplier.
