RaPiDo987 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Hey Guys... I have a Sunbeam core contact cpu cooler on my II X4 940. At stock settings my temps are around 37C at Idle and 44C on load. Overclocked to 3.5GHz (1.32v) my temps hit 48C on load. The fan that the CPU cooler came with state that air flow is 90.65 CFM (Max). Is this a good fan? Can anyone recommend another Cpu cooler fan? I have a thermaltake a2018 as a exhaust fan and that sucker blows are like a jet engine... Should I switch the fans? Core contact fan: Spec Type Fan & Heatsinks Fan Size 120mm Compatibility Socket 754 / 939 / 940 / AM2 / LGA775 Bearing Type Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing RPM 1000 - 2000
TheConqueror Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) Both at max blow about the "listed" amount. Honestly if you dont care about how loud it is, and want some of the highest airflow, get a Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000RPM, but they are loud as hell. I am almost sure that the Sunbeam fan is a lie, there is no way it can blow 90CFM at around 20DBa Edited June 13, 2009 by TheConqueror

The thermaltake can lift it self up of the floor at max speed but the sunbeam fan doesn't.
cjloki Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I agree with you... The thermaltake can lift it self up of the floor at max speed but the sunbeam fan doesn't. the one on my gamer runs at about 2200rpm with the bios set to performance and the controller at full throttle. .....it keeps my extreme cool enough.....between 35- 37 idle... but the one on the folding rig has the best results it idles at about 40-42 and folds at about 55-58....i think your temps are fine bro... The Punkinator Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I'm pretty sure the core contacts fan is 20dB's on low fan speed and around 50 on high.
ccokeman Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 My Scythe Kaze fans are louder than the fan on the core contact freezer. As delivered it was able to keep my Q9450 cool when overclocked and your temps are not bad.
