Murphy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) I am relatively new to the overclocking world. My board has an AI overclocking setting, but when I set it to 10%, it blue screens. I learned that means the cpu is not getting enough power. I have an ASUS M2N-E SLI motherboard and I was wondering how to increase the voltage to the cpu. I can turn it down but not up. Is there a way to unlock it or is there a program I can use that will allow me to increase it? Also is there a way to unlock the multiplier? I can adjust the bus as high as I want to but the multiplier will only go down. Or should I just stick with adjusting the bus? Any links to helpful websites would also be greatly appreciated. paulktreg Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Can't really help with the overclock but it would probably be useful if you included your hardware details. .... and welcome to OCC. Murphy Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Alright I am using an ASUS M2N-E SLI motherboard and an AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+. Hope that helps.
Zertz Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 There is no way to unlock the multiplier. Overclocking in the BIOS is the best way to do since it's a lot more flexible than the Windows tools Asus provides. I had that board and it clocked reasonably well, but the processor (and possibly RAM too) will be your limiting factor(s) because those processors don't have much headroom. So yes, increasing the bus speed is the only way to overclock. There are probably guides out there, I'm sure someone can dig a link
