Comp is restarting

So, I built this new comp about a week or so ago. ( The i7 I have listed in my sig.) It's been running beautifully... untill I put the new cpu cooler on, 2 days ago. Now like every 30-45 mins, my comp just shuts off and reboots. Only when I play a game. (crysis, COD5, ect...) I look at the cpu and mobo temps, they are at 45c-50c. Not too hot to cause a restart. I tested the psu and its all good. Memtest shows no errors. I dont have any stand-offs grounding the mobo out. Nada. Any1 have a clue to whats goin on?

Out of curiosity, what did you do to test the power supply?

Couple things actually, I used a psu tester, looked in the system configuration and saw it was at the right voltage, and swapped a new psu in there. lol. I figure I would hit all the bases.

would try putting the old cpu cooler back on if it worked fine with it and see what happens...

it's practically a shot in the dark and may not make much sense, but if it worked fine until changing coolers and if nothing else was changed it makes sense to try it.

other than that, you really should look into getting a quality pc power and cooling or corsair power supply to replace that rocketfish...

wouldn't trust a high end build on an iffy power supply and it may just end up being the problem here.

Not a thing and I did a deep scan with Kaspersky. Nothing was found. I'm also having problems loading a gam. I have Simcity 4 deluxe and it wont even start to load onto my computer. I did try thr combatibilty as XP (SP2)... nada. It pops up the run but after that, nothin.

you have XP, and dont have any virusses..is your comp quiet? if not sound is caused by vibrations, and one of your parts may not be attached enough, and vibratings can hit things and cause reactions...perhaps something inside your computer is vibrating, hitting something (whether being the reset button itself or something else.
