pkilway Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Was thinking about setting up a new gaming box (mostly EQ, WOW). Budget is $1,500. I don't mind spending a little extra money to invest in a new socket that may extend my upgrade path by a year (or possibly two). If you have any input, please let me know what you think. Verran Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 As always, "meh" to the DDR3. Otherwise it looks good.
pkilway Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I went DDR3 because of the AM3 socket, other then that I'd skip it. But I guess that raises the question of the AM3+ platform, will socket be AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+ compatible? If so, I think I'd opt for a different mobo and ram. Edt: And what's the deal with the ACC setting turning X3 cpu's into X4 cpu's? Edited June 9, 2009 by pkilway
