DanTheGamer11 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Is it possible to give the GeForce 8200 more than 256MB ram? Help would be very useful.
dr_bowtie Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 yes...you should be able to allow 512mb of ram to the onboard...on some boards but not all...check the BIOS options to see what it allows... ***Moderator note*** posting in the "appropriate" location will net you help more quickly...just a little friendly FYI... Deathmineral Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 You can give it up to 512mb, I have the same motherboard, 256mb is the default but it allows you to up it to 512mb or even lower it to 128mb, 64mb, and I think 32mb.
Deathmineral Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Also I noticed in your sig that you are planning to upgrade to a phenom II, do you plan on getting a new motherboard as well? I'm not sure but I don't think it supports the phenom 2s, I may be wrong though.

Strictly speaking with on board graphics it's a motherboard problem is it not? Cheers Paul

DanTheGamer11 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) Where in the bios can I add more ram? Edited June 20, 2009 by Dan The Gamer
panjang110 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 hei, i used to have that board too.. u have to update the bios to the latest one before you have the selection of 512MB frame buffer, the place is in advance setting-chipset-frame buffer

Cheers Paul I moved the thread to here from where it was originally posted then cleaned up my tracks...nice try though.. OP: if you plan to use the onboard...use a 2x2gb kit of ram and allocate 512mb to the onboard...it will run pretty decent that way nomatter what OS you install... Yup I have 2x2gb... the double Ram for the IGP should give it a small boost.
