ccokeman Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 not a bad idea but...for me 2 4850s are cheaper and scale better.... I have the MSI GTX-275 and it does fine but my 4850s in crossfire beat it by a good margin...which is weird because reviews say otherwise...not for me... Depends on your settings really. ocre Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 There really is no reason to go ati/amd or intel/nvidia. I have amd/nvidia and it is perfectly fine like that. Here is how you scale: with one card your performance or fps is a then you add another card which should scale 2x (times) one card. But it doesnt in most cases. It can be 1.65x, 1.5x or not scale at all then i twould be the same as one card. If you cant run a dame all maxed out with one gtx275 or 260 at the resolutions you are planning on running then something is probably wrong. And if a game took that much more to max out probably many ppl wouldn't/couldnt be playing it.
dr_bowtie Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Intel stuff isnt bad as long as you stick with C2D or C2Q and an Intel Chipset.... the AMD platform is a very viable option and the Dragon platform make good sense.... I dont use Nvidia chipsets either because the are flaky.....
