InvaderTrax Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Which is faster, a Radeon 9600XT w/128MB RAM or a Geforce FX5900 Ultra w/256MB RAM?
Felony Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Umm thats pretty much a no brainer. 5900 = High end Graphics card ( Expensive ) where as the 9600XT is sapose to be affordable price/performance solution. 5900 was ment to compete with the 9800 Pro and the 9600XT is ment to compete with the 5600Ultra ( Witch it crush's ) but nvidia recently realesed the 5700Ultra witch is pretty much on par with the 9600XT and for the same price. Eva_Unit_0 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Well ON PAPER the 5900 ultra beats the snot out of a 9600xt. In actual dx9 benchmarks, however, the 9600xt is faster. (heck, a 9600 pro beats it in hl2)

RVE Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 I got mine from NewEgg.com. Here's a direct link to the Newegg page for the 5900SE. It's $188 at the moment.
AYoKoNA Posted January 6, 2004 Posted January 6, 2004 In actual dx9 benchmarks, however, the 9600xt is faster. Thats not true at all. Maybe when the first wacky nvidia driver came out.. Have you seen the latest reviews?
