IVIYTH0S Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 So I just recently got my new 4870x2 in here and it runs games pretty good. I'm wondering if there is a way to make sure both GPUs are running. When I came out of a game I jumped right into Riva which told me the 2nd GPU was running at like 53C and the first at 80C which seems to me like only the first one was at work. I thought there was an option in CCC to enable or disable Crossfire (since I didn't install CCC at first, just the display driver). Thanks guys, just want to make sure I'm seeing this behemoth's true colors.
Zertz Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I thought the X2 was "native" CrossFire so you don't actually have to enable it?

I swore there was a way to uncrossfire them for things like folding @ home right? or maybe I'm just thinking of the 4850x2 since it has that 4 monitor capability
Zertz Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Apparently, there are a couple flags to add to the F@H shortcut "path1" -forcegpu ati_r700 -gpu 1 "path2" -forcegpu ati_r700 -gpu 2 Should do the trick Edited June 2, 2009 by Zertz

I'd imagine if it was just one core running the gameplay would be pretty much the same as my 260 (since it'd be like having a 4870 1GB in here) Edited June 2, 2009 by IVIYTH0S
IVIYTH0S Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Bump, sorry to double post but I can't seem to figure out how to input those commands into folding at home to use both cores. I tried put it into the shortcut and it keeps just displaying all the shortcut flags to type, and I tried "gpu x" (where x is the gpu number) and it just tells me that the folding@home client can't do that or that I might be using an incompatible driver. I'm blaming the fact that it's probably because of the windows 7 driver?

If that doesn't work then I don't know, maybe the 7 driver like you said. Check out F@H forums

Check out F@H forums ya I did that, both in the way you had it phrased and also the way they recommended
