00stevo Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I know they have slightly different spec, and they are very close price wise, but what is the best option for me from those two?
PingoPongo Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) Well the HD 4770 has slightly better specs, has higer clocks, is 40nm and takes 80W (30W less than HD 4830). http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?ca...2&card2=586 EDIT: The HD 4770 performs better in almost all applications. At most games its equal to the HD 4850. As the HD 4770 is 40nm it stays really cool and can be overclocked pretty good, wich results the HD 4770 being even faster than the HD 4850. http://www.techspot.com/review/163-radeon-hd-4770/ http://www.guru3d.com/article/ati-radeon-hd-4770-review/17 Edited May 31, 2009 by PingoPongo
PeeWee90 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 (edited) I would go for the 4770. Though they could be hard getting to, since TSMC (the company that make the chips for both AMD and Nvidia) has had some real problems getting the 40nm chips out and there is a major shortage on the 4770. It's rumoured that AMD will cut prices of the 4850 to match the current 4770 prices. Get a 4770 if you find it in stock, or wait and see if the rumour is true and get a 4850.
