FaiN Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hello, I just got my second 9800GTX+. Now I have XFX 9800GTX+ and an XFX 9800GTX+ XXX edition. When I have one card, it's no problem, as soon as I put 2 in (with or without bridge) it doesn't recognize a card, it uninstalls the card drivers automaticly and in 'Hardware managment' it says that the cards do not work properly so they're shut-down (Code: 43). Anyone know the problem? Thanks!
Crow47 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Try reinstalling your drivers? Does enabling SLI in the nvidia control panel help at all? What kind of motherboard do you have, perhaps yours doesn't in fact support SLI.
FaiN Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Try reinstalling your drivers? Does enabling SLI in the nvidia control panel help at all? What kind of motherboard do you have, perhaps yours doesn't in fact support SLI. RE-installed 4 times or so. I have an EVGA 750 SLI FTW, so it supports SLI. And when I enable SLI in control panel the screen goes black and stays black until I decide to shut it down. The strange thing is, when I enable SLI in control panel and it starts the SLI procedure the cards seem to overheat!
owcraftsman Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 The two cards have different memory. The DDR3 vs GDDR3 which could be your issue.

No, not that I or google knows of but you could try a card that is exactly like one or the other and document it for us. owcraftsman Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 The only reason I mentioned that was it is the only difference I see between the two cards. If you just bought the card check the return policy with your retailer. It's obvious that the new card is not working as intended so you should have some recourse with the retailer or, if your beyond the retailers policy restrictions, contact tech support of the manufacturer. One way or the other, If you haven't done so already I would call XFX to find out what they say about compatibility. Report back here what they say. Good Luck! FaiN Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Okay, I tried to SLI my GTX260's, worked fine... Now, I guess it's the core clocks.
