The EvilAlex Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Ok, so to avoid any unnecessary questions I'll post my pc build(future pc, I don't have it yet...) and a monitor. Case-ANTEC NINE HUNDRED ATX MIDI U/PSU BLACK PSU-CORSAIR TX SERIE PSU 750W 140MM FAN ATX Monitor-SAMSUNG T240HD HDD-WESTERN DIGITAL CAVIAR BLACK 640GB SATA2 7200RPM 32MB CPU-INTEL CORE I7-920 2.66G 8M LGA1366 BOX Motherboard-ASUS S1366 IX58 DDR3 SATA2 GLAN 8-CH ATX RAM-CORSAIR DDR3 3X2GB 1600MHZ DIMM CL9 KIT Hope I didn't miss anything... My choice is between XFX GTX275(XFX GF GTX275 670M 896MB DDR3 2XDVI XXX, Product code-GX-275X-ADDF) or XFX GTX285(XFX VGA 1GB GDDR3 PCIE16 GTX285/2DVI, Product code-GX-285X-ZWFA) (XFX GF GTX285 PCI-E 1GB DDR3 2XDVI/TV, Product code-GX-285N-ZDFF) So if you say 285, you need to specify which one. Zertz Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 What's your budget for the video card & monitor?
The EvilAlex Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) "are you limited to xfx for some reason?" I'm buying from www.m79.lv, and they only have Asus and xfx gtx285 gpu's(Probably sold out on the other brands). Why do you ask, is there something wrong with XFX, should I take Asus and you still didn't say which to take 275 or 285. "What's your budget for the video card & monitor?" Whats wrong with this monitor, don't worry about the price, if it's worth it I'll buy it. Forgot to mention my resolution, 1920x1200 What the hell guys, you answer my questions with more questions!?!? Reagnon Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I f you want this system to last a while i would go for the 285. As for the choice i have anothe question... do you plan on overclocking? if so you should get the one with a good cooler. if not get the standard one with the longest warranty. The EvilAlex Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) You mean the XFX GF GTX285 PCI-E 1GB DDR3 2XDVI/TV?? I think the one with the good cooler will do. For now, I'm not planing on OC, but eventually I will, when my system gets a bit older. Reagnon Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) I think that is a good idea you will also have less noise: big cooler --> lower fan speeds for stock frequencies. The brand doesn't matter that much just get the one with the longest warranty and good customer service. have fun with it!!!
