Guest FxXP Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Pre-releases or "betas" only work for 90-120 days. Don't plan on making it your full-time OS.

Paranoid Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Why don't you try it out? What's the worst that can happen, you have to reinstall Windows XP?
bigred Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 can't sell you a license for it, since it's still over a year from release. and if you want to know about longhorn use the crap search function. I don't feel like going over it for the 8 millionth time
SkullZ Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I dunno why the crap*** u would want to spend 60 bucks on a lousy lisence for a buggy . os that is even crappier than windows xp anyway
bigred Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 coming from someone who's never used it. see the sig. been running the beta for a LONG time. I used to work for MS making sure it's perfect. trust me on this one, by the time it's out on the retail market it'll make XP look unstable. It's only hold up right now is getting all the drivers WHQL certified (#1 reason it will be the most stable MS os ever)
asus Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 OOPS.. mistake! O-well.. just deleated windows server 2003 for this hunka crap but i beleave it will be GREAT when the offical version is out to buy.. il def pick up a copy! bigred Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 you haven't got enough ram to have all the desktop crap running. I run 4gb of ram in it, and it runs fine.
Guest FxXP Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 Yeah money bags has 4GB of RAM...no wonder why it runs good for you. Think of the average Joe that only has 256 or 512. Longhorn is a pig on RAM to just use its GUI.
Paranoid Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 would 1GB be enough?
O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 I am sure you can revert back to Classic (2000) view; I prefer that.
