Which laptop brand is your favorite??

I've been trying to find a low priced laptop around a $1000 budget that is good for gaming and multitasking with.

I have been looking at the Asus G50VT-X5 at Best Buy, which is priced around $900.

Anyone have suggestions for a good laptop?

You forgot one: Apple. When it comes time to replace my Macbook, I will definitely be doing so with another Mac.

You asked two questions. Which one do you want to be reflected in the poll? Our favorite or our suggestion for what you should purchase?

I have a Dell e1705 with a 7900gs. I used it for gaming and it was pretty good for being a laptop. Allowed me to play Oblivion to pass time during a deployment.

You left out Gateway which BB has for a pretty decent one thats priced pretty well fo rthe specs you get.

I have a Dell Studio 15....I use Photoshop CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4 all the time. Works perfectly.

Games I play(ed) on my laptop include TF2, Fallout 3, Peggle Nights, Battlefield Heroes, Starcraft, Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Jedi Knight II. Some games (like Fallout 3), I have to play on low-med settings, but it still works fine. Of course, for most games, I'll only play them when I have the ability/space to use a wireless mouse and not the touchpad (FPS + touchpad = HARD!).

The one I specced out has a P8400 CPU, 4GB DDR2-800 and a 256MB ATI Radeon HD3450. At the time, a similarly specced Mac would have cost $1k more...no thanks!

lolwut? =P

He was asking what our favorite laptop was, and he forgot Apple as a category. His $1,000 requirement was a completely different question.
