almondboy72 Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Hey okay i just came across a problem i can not fix i have ad-aware running and i find these things in the registry and adware delets them Its a program called CommenName and i cant uninstall it, it takes me to thier website and makes me give them reasons why i dont want it and thiers no program related to it and ever time i delete the crap thnig it says can not delete because in use. So i try to take if off the processes and it keeps coming off so i was wondering is thier any program that kills files no matter what it just keeps on poping up, even while im typing now. I need a program that will kill a folder without any hesitation. Thnx Moe
General Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Just try and find the folder its located in and delete a few of its Dll. you will get some error messeges at startup, but i think that might solve it. I had the same problem you had. only like 20 times worse. would get pop ups even with the internet off. I ended up formatting. Do you have any idea on how this program got on your computer? Simich Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 although it sounds rather simple and everyone does it, alot of people don't even take this route. 1- C:\Program Files\ and look for the folder with the name of the program 2- C:\Program Files\ and look for any folder related to or just a folder of a program you have never instaled or want, because the . you dont want could be installed by a program you installed on purpose, eg: kazaa 3 - Spybot finds stuff ad-aware doens't, while ad-aware finds spybot doesn't, so use em both
Guest FxXP Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Having both those applications installed can cause some conflicts and SpyBot will warn you that you have Ad-Aware installed.
robbie Posted January 1, 2004 Posted January 1, 2004 Yeah, run Spybot that should get it. If not click Run, and then type MSCONFIG and then click on the "startup" tab and UNCHECK anything that might be related to what you think is giving you a problem. Start by looking for things that ARE NOT in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft Hope that helps. Rob
almondboy72 Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 hey i tried everyones method and found a solution to anyone that is having the sam problem as me this is what i did i just logged into safe mode and the program that always use to run normally did not. The start up program thing i tried but im guessing it somewhere in the registry so it kept on coming up. Well anyway just log into safe mode and delete the folder it takes it away and problems are gone you can take care of everything in safe mode and i dont know why i did not think of that before last minute i did and it worked

Mr_Yuck Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 for popup blocking, go to popuptest.com under free programs, get Popthis, it is integrated in IE, and you can allow popups from sites that you want popups from...

PabloEscobar Posted January 2, 2004 Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) Here's the simplest way to solve that problem. And yes, get spybot S&D. But anyways do this. Start your computer in safe made... If your running XP start it in safe mode and log onto your administrator. Run adaware and spybot S&D while in safe mode. 99 precent of the time this will fix it because the program isen't running in safe mode. If you dont know how to start in safe mode say so and ill give you step by step instructions.
