MattDunbar Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I'm not looking for anything crazy, actually I'm looking for something that can handle web browsing and possibly flash player. I will be running XP on the build, and I am wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I have never done "budget" builds myself, and I'm not really sure what can be achieved at this price, is it even worth my while to build the PC? By the way, I have a hard drive ready, a Power Supply and an old Sapphire HD 2600 PRO laying around that can go into this system. Rockstone Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 (edited) It sure is. The El cheapo solution: OCZ Vista Upgrade 2GB (2 x 1GB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227189) AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma 2.8GHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103678) GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128376) GIGABYTE GZ-X5BPD-500 Black SECC Steel / ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233039) Thats $264, and will work fine! If you ever decided to upgrade to a fancier video card, a 9600GT can be found for $100, and with that- you have a computer that could do mild to moderate gaming! Prices on these components have come down alot. Edited May 18, 2009 by Rockstone

Never bothered to RMA it, but if I RMA now, I'm thinking this build might actually be half decent for its cost.
