kingdingeling Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 That power supply is absolutely overkill! Save money there, grab a Corsair HX620W or a PCP&C Silencer 750W and then get yourself something else nice. There also doesn't seem to be a video card in that system? razor Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 That power supply is absolutely overkill! Save money there, grab a Corsair HX620W or a PCP&C Silencer 750W and then get yourself something else nice. if you get a more appropriate PSU, as KD suggested, you will be able to afford that X58 Classified. it's also worth mentioning that you can now get a guaranteed D0 stepping i7, which I would recommend. from what I've seen around the web, guys w/D0 CPUs are hitting 4ghz+ at significantly lower voltages compared to the C0 chips. Google "guaranteed D0 i7" and find the best deal. it is absolutely worth a few extra bucks for the D0.
Guest ajmatson Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Well you have my attention. I can't wait to see it done. I really would like to see more build logs and projects from OCC members.
jellyrole Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 PSU isn't overkill when its free! I got it as a review item a while ago. Also, should have mentioned the parts section was the parts I already have.
