samrozzi Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 ok first off I know its a very low card and cant do much. but atm my build is complete jsut saving more money for a good gfx card. But in the meantime I wanna try OC my 8500GT. But I am confused by pcmarks results on default my total score is 3291 PCMarks when I raise the core and memory some its now up to 3419 PCMarks. The total marks are up but things like gaming and tv/movies went down. What does this mean? I want to raise it so it handles games better. IVIYTH0S Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 anyone? you mean the performance in games and movies is choppy/glitchy? most likely you've clocked too far and may be starving the card of power (as I'm assuming that card is powered directly from the pci-e slot)
samrozzi Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 no I never got choppy or glitchy. Im just talking about in the pcmark results. like default settings id get say 3000 for the gaming score and the overall score would be like 3291 but then i raise a few things and my gaming score would go down to like 2700 but my overall would go UP to 3419 why? I'm not one to care about benchmarking, if the performance is better in games then i wouldn't care what pcmark scores you get Have you tried it overclocked in an actual game yet? Kingfisher Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 You might want to run a series of that benchmark, say 10 of them and see what the average is. Benchmark scores can vary without ever changing the overclock.
