InCrYsIs Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I get this error when trying to open a CSV file from the web. Any clue what might be going on here?
Crazy_Nate Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Have you tried saving it on your hard drive, and then opening it through excel? I've never had a problem with opening csv files, but I have had to import them, setting the column delimiter as a comma. Tab delimited open fine, though. If that works, blame IE for incorrect temporary download files / information

It also happens in firefox with a slightly less bloated error.
Crazy_Nate Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Will it open through IE or FF with a text editor (notepad, etc)?

Crazy_Nate Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) If there's data in the file when you open it with notepad, save it elsewhere (.txt, etc), and try opening it with excel (from excel's open button / command - to get the text import wizard to pop up). The same values that appear in notepad should appear in excel PS. I use excel 2003, it might be slightly different for newer versions.
