robAP Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 I cant find ANY data on the actual card length apart form random reviews....and that's only if they decide to report on that. I have a hd4650 in an HTPC case, i need to know how much longer the HD4850 is. they're both a sapphire card. (you can get the hd4850 at newegg now for practically $75 after rebate and promo code till may 17th)
pkilway Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) This Sapphire 4850 looks exactly like mine, but mine doesn't have the second slot grill to it for air exhaust. If I remember correctly my Sapphire 4850 measured 21cm / 8.25 inches. Just measure your 4650. Just measure your 4650. hey thanks for going through the trouble to measure the card. i'm a little late on this reply. i kinda had a baby in that space somewhere. anyway, i measured it. the 4650 is 7.5 inches or thereabouts. in my Silverstone HTPC case, the 4850 would run into the back of the HD's in the center drive cage. I would have to move them off to the side behind the PSU to allow space for the 4850 if i were to get them....its one heck of a deal now on newegg for the next 2 days. good thing is i'd be able to run 2 of them. so that would be a crossfire of sapphire 4850's for under $200 delivered at this time. I think i'll just have to get 1 and sell my 4650.
