card length, 4650 vs. 4850

I cant find ANY data on the actual card length apart form random reviews....and that's only if they decide to report on that. I have a hd4650 in an HTPC case, i need to know how much longer the HD4850 is. they're both a sapphire card. (you can get the hd4850 at newegg now for practically $75 after rebate and promo code till may 17th)

This Sapphire 4850 looks exactly like mine, but mine doesn't have the second slot grill to it for air exhaust. If I remember correctly my Sapphire 4850 measured 21cm / 8.25 inches.

 

Just measure your 4650.

hey thanks for going through the trouble to measure the card.

i'm a little late on this reply. i kinda had a baby in that space somewhere. anyway, i measured it. the 4650 is 7.5 inches or thereabouts. in my Silverstone HTPC case, the 4850 would run into the back of the HD's in the center drive cage. I would have to move them off to the side behind the PSU to allow space for the 4850 if i were to get them....its one heck of a deal now on newegg for the next 2 days. good thing is i'd be able to run 2 of them. so that would be a crossfire of sapphire 4850's for under $200 delivered at this time. I think i'll just have to get 1 and sell my 4650.
