Is hot gluing a 120mm fan on ram heatsinks a good idea? I mounted my core contact freezer on back wards and cant get i off cuz its socket am2  epic fail on my part. i was just wondering if i could do this. the fan wouldn't touch the ram directly.

Picture?

not really sure what you're driving at, so i'll take a shotgun approach and see if I happen to get it.

Are you talking about mounting a fan to blow into your CPU heatsink from your RAM heatsinks? i'm not sure mounting anything to your RAM sinks is a good idea, except maybe some 80-90mm fans to cool the RAM itself.

If you are talking about a fan to cool your RAM, then you can pick up some 80-90mm fans like I mentioned and mount those on.

In any case, the best way i've found to mount fans is with the skinny zip ties (skinny as in not the ones you would use to bundle cables in your car, but rather the ones you would use to bundle small wires in your PC.)

YES

A long as the fan blades don't rub onto anything you can mount it anywhere...

Also "HELL YEAH" to the hot glue choice!

I love hot glue, it is a brilliant universal adhesive 2nd only to duct tape with its sheer number of usages...

Afterthought:

Hot glue can stick pretty solidly onto a plethora of things, I've pulled ICs and other components off (or ripped them partially off) before because the hot glue was so strong.

Be very careful where you put the glue...
