Why would you need to dual boot vista/xp?

He said in his post that he has some programs that wont run in Vista

thanky all...

i have some drivers for telescope control equipment that won't run in vista...

also still using filemaker 5.0, not vista compatible....but am gonna move that stuff to access 1 of these daze...

am tempted to go win7/xp emulation.....get ahead of the os curve for once....

at least i can figure out what works in emulation mode and what doesn't ahead of time...

worst case i just reformat and go back to vista64/xp dual boot...

i need to research the memory issue running win7/xp emu....thought i read today xp emu needs 3-4 gig ram to run, not sharing with win7???

if thats the case, maybe i should make the jump straight to 12gig???

hey there;

welcome to occ.

glad to see you're choosing to get away from dell and saving money with better parts to build your own...

it's a much better choice!
