fire_storm Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 It's most likely the partition is set as a hidden one and to get access to it you will have to use a program like partition magic to un-hide it.

Partition magic is not compatible with vista Any other suggestions?
fire_storm Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I think pretty much any disk partition utility will un-hide a partition but I'm not sure of any good ones that are free. You can use the Diskpart which is a command line utility that comes with Vista to unhide a partition. I'm not sure of the exact commands you would have to type in to do it but you would probably be able to find them with a quick Google search. labatt_splatts Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I would try GParted and then if it's really screwy get TestDisk and PhotoRec. I just went through the same thing and somehow my partition came back...but then my mobo broke.

greengiant912 Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) try Knoppix, its a distro of Linux that you can throw on a CDrom and use to copy files that are even hidden from windows. Its worked wonders for me in the past it might not apply to your situation though :-\ Edited May 4, 2009 by greengiant912
