razor Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 nice dude! :thumbs-up: would I be correct if I guessed you're using Pergo? it's good stuff, but you need to be careful and be sure the sub-floor is level. the tool-bags that installed my mom's floor didnt check for level first, and now there's a springy-feeling part by her front door. unfortunately, I'm not a flooring expert, so I cant advise you on how to ensure level... ccokeman Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Looks well done! Putting new flooring in really makes a difference in a room. I put Oak floors in the living room and hallways last year and paid the price for it with a slight accident that included the table saw and my fingers! Floors look great but fingers not so good. nickosha Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) Looks well done! Putting new flooring in really makes a difference in a room. I put Oak floors in the living room and hallways last year and paid the price for it with a slight accident that included the table saw and my fingers! Floors look great but fingers not so good. My dad did something kind of similar to that when we were doing our tiling in our house. We were on the last 1/4 of a room and he wanted to just finish it already so he started to hurry a little bit. Once we got to the wall, he had to cut the tiles and his impatience caused him to have his knife slip over the straight edge he was using and make a nice diagonal cut through the end of his thumb. It wasn't a huge piece, but after that his thumb was just over a third less wide at the tip. Since then his thumb has grown back about half of what he cut off, but he says it still feels strange when he touches stuff because of the missing nerve endings. Edit: whoops, almost forgot to add that your floor looks great, Andrew. I really like the wood you chose.
