vichart Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Greets, I just installed a second SATA drive on SATA port 2 which is identical type as the SATA drive on port 1. My BIOS sees both drives. Vista sees both in the device manager but SATA 2 does not have the Disable option icon avalable. "My Computer" display only displays the SATA 1 drive and not the SATA 2 drive. Any ideas here? slick2500 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 (edited) I had this issue when I got my first sata hard drive, download the hard drive tools off the manufactures website and run them. Idk if Vista is the same way as XP was with this tho. Edited May 1, 2009 by slick2500

Idk if Vista is the same way as XP was with this tho. I managed to fix the problem rather easily actually. Done a little research and digging and discovered that the new 2nd SATA drive was unallocated so I went into the Vista Disk Manager and allocated it as a BASIC partition and it worked. Thanks for the info. Vic
