Onion Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 This is a clean install on a brand new hard drive. This one isn't touched (not that anyone knows, which is about 10,000 people), I got it from demonoid.
dr_bowtie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 you wont know if you have it or not unless you check the checksum of the MD5...
IVIYTH0S Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 you wont know if you have it or not unless you check the checksum of the MD5... what's the Trojan do to ya? I usually do clean installs of the newer builds (probably swap builds ever two weeks at the maximum with how fast microsoft is turning them out)
dr_bowtie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 This is all the story says.... The affected torrents have the setup.exe install file encapsulated in a self-extracting archive, along with an installer for the trojan itself; launching it triggers an install of both Windows 7 RC and the malware. The advice is, as always, make sure to corroborate the MD5 checksum on your ISO download with the known, safe MD5, and if the two don
r3d c0m3t Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 This is all the story says.... This is great news. How do I check for the proper checksum, because that's about six hours of my life I'll never get back...not to mention it's not even done. IVIYTH0S Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 is this the kinda trojan that gives my info away and stuff? where do I get the cured .exe?
dr_bowtie Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 check the checksum... you do it after the download finishes...I did it on both of my ISOs and they are clean... http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-M...5-Checker.shtml the actual checksum will be in the download link of the RC you downloaded
r3d c0m3t Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Great. Apparently I don't have the proper checksum. If I have to download this crap again, I'll just stick with XP until it actually hits the shelves.
