DizoAZ Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 So I just purchased a Intel i7 920 and thew my rig together. My friend also has the same setup (motherboard/CPU/ram) as I do. My question is, his stock voltage is roughly 1.2-something and my stock voltage is 1.35 when the bios setting is set to Auto. Why is this? Also what could this mean regarding overclocking? If my chip is automatically running at a higher stock voltage than his, could I still acheive the same results? Is there really any pro/con to having a CPU that runs at a higher stock voltage than another chip. If anyone could provide direction as to where I can find these answers, or just answer them, that would be great! I'm having a tough time finding documentation or maybe a dummies guide on CPU's and their VID's vs stock voltages... etc... Thanks in advance.
