pie Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) I am looking for a new video card. My current one, 1950 Pro, is making loud noises that's making me nervous. Can anyone recommend me a video card that does not generate a lot of heat/noise when not being used (like when I leave my comp on during the day/night). My budget is around $200.00 at most. razor Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 do you fold? if not, would you consider using your GPU to fold? this is a great card, it'll game OK when you want to, and will fold like a banshee. it's quiet and sips power. I have one in my server right now: XFX 9600 GSO

maj0rgamer Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 (edited) 9600gt is hard to beat if you don't game... or even if you do some gaming, it's still excellent on modern games. here is a superclocked version... and a regular version, under $100 after rebate as of 4/27/2009. not a bad deal at all. what power supply are you using? the 9600gt uses one pci-e power connector, but is much more forgiving on power consumption than alot of the cards in it's general class.
