Looking for a new video card

I am looking for a new video card. My current one, 1950 Pro, is making loud noises that's making me nervous. Can anyone recommend me a video card that does not generate a lot of heat/noise when not being used (like when I leave my comp on during the day/night). My budget is around $200.00 at most.

PCIe

Core 2 Duo 6600 and 2GB Ram

are you Using AGP or PCIe? if you look at amazon.com you can find alot of high end GPU that are below $200

I don't game much, I don't need a high end card.

do you fold? if not, would you consider using your GPU to fold?

this is a great card, it'll game OK when you want to, and will fold like a banshee. it's quiet and sips power. I have one in my server right now: XFX 9600 GSO

9600gt is hard to beat if you don't game...

or even if you do some gaming, it's still excellent on modern games.

here is a superclocked version...

and a regular version, under $100 after rebate as of 4/27/2009.

not a bad deal at all.

what power supply are you using?

the 9600gt uses one pci-e power connector, but is much more forgiving on power consumption than alot of the cards in it's general class.

wouldn't a 4830 be a far better investment if doing a moderate level of gaming, and the 4670 is a strong media card.

4670 $69.99 ($59.99 after MIR)

9600GT $79.99 ($69.99 after MIR)

4830 $86.99 ($76.99 after MIR) *free Stalker Clear Sky*
