Kash Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 You'll find more information on Hackint0sh.org and OSx86 I've tried it, and trust me, unless you have the absolute perfect hardware combination, it's not worth the hassle. If you just want to play with OS X, you're better off scrounging together some cash and buying a used Mac instead of dealing with the pain of installing OS X on your PC. DLS2008 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I completely agree with Kash, it's just not worth the hassle to put a Mac OS on a PC. Most of the time it doesn't work as smoothly as a true Mac.
Kevinkjb81 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 no. the MAc os X system checks the Hardware to make shure its being installed on a Mac system. and macs use EFI firmware instead of BIOS. that intel macs emulate
Kash Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Don't listen to Kevin, he has no clue what he's talking about when it comes to installing OS X on a PC.
issues Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Search for Kalyway Leopard 10.5.1 SSE2 SSE3, it is real picky it works on some computers and it won't work in others. I got it installed on a newer compaq and it runs just like a mac.

A true mac runs smoothly? <_< As DLS and kash said, it isn't worth it. A nice linux distro, or windows 7, will do the trick. hardnrg Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I have OSX 10.5.x running in VMWare Server 2 in single processor (i.e. single core) mode It's a bit slow, but at least it runs
Kash Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Running it in a VM is different than running it natively. It's much harder and more tedious to do the latter
labatt_splatts Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Get a linux distro and Compiz and you're almost there...just with less restrictions. charge an obscene amount of money for it and THEN you have a mac.
