Ziggy54354 Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 Im planning on cutting a 120mm blowhole in my case but i wanna take the top off first so i wont mess up the stuff inside. The problem is i cant find any screws/latches that let me take it off. If any1 knows where the screws are located or how to take it off let me know
Paranoid Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 You will have to drill out the rivets.

airman Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 yeah, you'll have to drill out the rivets. Cheiftechs aren't made to be taken apart Nothing is.
justinal Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 its not that bad a drill to get it apart and a rivit gun for about 20 bucks to put back together
sYstEmATiC Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 its not that bad a drill to get it apart and a rivit gun for about 20 bucks to put back together yeah, a box of like 200 rivets is only like 6-7 bucks also.
Special_K Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 just drill it out with the top in place, use garbage bags to cover up everything else, and tape a cardboard box to the underside so it will collect all the metal flakes and stuff. i cut my 80mm out with the mobo and everything but the psu and cd/dvd drives in, no problems there, just be sure to cover everything. its not worth it to go out and by a riveter and all that stuff (at least i dont think so)
IUMaestro Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 did the same as special_k. I took out my 5.25 drives and just moved the PSU to the outside of the case.. didnt unplug anything. And I used a thin cardboard box duct taped to catch the metal shavings and the donut hole itself. This was a 120mm blowhole in a chieftec by the way. That should work fine for you as long as you dont go ape.t and drill holes in your motherboard and stuff. Good luck
